Mystery Photograph

My Aunt recently gave me some more family photos and here is another one that goes into the unknown pile.  On the back "Dennis" is written. The only Dennis I am aware of is Dennis McFadden (1847-1924). Based on the clothing I guess this was taken sometime during the 1920's. By that time Dennis was an old man grey hair and a mustache.  I've compared photographs of the older Dennis with his wife Elizabeth Neuland (1866-1949), and they do not seem to be the same people.

Included with the first picture was this one with the label "The Boobs".  No idea what to make of that, but it did give the 13 year old in me a little chuckle.  The couple looks to be the same as the first picture judging by their cloths and hats. 

 

Possible photo of great great grandmother

I came across a site that has this photo attached to the record for Dianacy "Dicy" WALLACE Autrey (1829-1925).  Dicy, I believe is the mother of Sealy "Celia" AUTREY Sample (1860-1907) but so far have been unable to verify their linkage, as described in previous posts. 

There is also a smaller head shot of this image on this site.  I did try to contact someone at the site but so far have not received a reply.  I would like more information on this picture such as when it was taken, who has the original, if it still exists and if there are others of her and her family. 

Playing with the image, adjusting tint, darkness etc. it does appear she is standing in front of a brick wall.  At the bottom by her left leg there is a round object but so far I have no clue what it could be. 
Finally, there is something about the way she is posed that makes me think this could be a post mortem photograph even though 1925 seems a little late since the practice had fallen off during the 20th century.

Another mystery to work on that hopefully does have an answer out there somewhere.

Sports Saturday: ready for some baseball

Found this picture in my grandmother Webb's box of memories.   I have no idea who this kid is or where the picture was taken.  I found it in with several of my grandmother's family pictures, but it could easily have been a member or neighbor of my grandfather's as well.  I'm guessing it was taken sometime in the 19 teens.
